I wasn't able to get this post sorted in time for yesterday, so here it is today instead.
Gustavo Adolfo Becquer is a 19th century Spanish poet and writer, born in Sevilla on 17 February 1836 and died in Madrid on 22 December 1870. One of his most famous literary works is "Rimas" - "Rhymes". They are a collection of love poems that fall into three categories - the first batch are the search for love, the second batch are about the experience of love (they are normally short 4 or 8 lines and are so passionate and romantic that they take your breath away and the finally the third batch are the loss of love.
This one is Rima 22 (part of the second batch - the experience of love)
Por una mirada, un mundo;
por una sonrisa, un cielo;
por un beso... yo no sé
que te diera por un beso.
This is my translation of the poem:
For a look, the world;
for a smile, the sky;
for a kiss … I don’t know
what I would give you for a kiss.
Aaaaah, here's hoping 2008 is as romantic ...

Thank you so much for your kind words. It's hard to get on with my own life right now, but I'm trying, and it's good to hear from someone other than immediate family that it's okay to do so. Thanks again, and take care!
